Sarah and Scott met in 2019 in Silver Spring, Maryland. As coincidence would have it, Scott was born in Silver Spring, while Sarah had been born some 6,500 miles away. The pure odds that Sarah would come to call Silver Spring home instead of Scott must be a million to one. And, yet, here we are.
Near the end of their first date in Silver Spring, Scott asked Sarah if they could keep walking and talking. He didn't realize how fast time had flown and didn't want it to end. Sarah graciously extended their date until it got dark, and what started as a casual brunch ended with them saying goodbye at dusk. It had been a date full of honest and frank conversations from Sarah, telling him her unfiltered story and dropping all the facades of a normal first date. Scott had been looking for someone like this his whole life.
Scott and Sarah's first date happened on February 10th, suspiciously close to Valentine's Day. Both left that first date wondering if Valentine's Day was too much for a second date, but both secretly hoped it wouldn't be. Scott rolled the dice and asked for a second date on Valentine's Day, and the rest was history. That second date came with even more honesty and vulnerability. Sarah and Scott shared their hopes and dreams for their lives and realized it lined up pretty perfectly.
Sarah and Scott have been through just about everything together since then. Whether it be a pandemic, navigating countless travels, sickness, buying/fixing a house, dealing with loss, or sticking it out through the toughest times, they belong together.
There's always been a bit of a yin-yang thing with Sarah and Scott. Sarah always says "Everything happens for a reason." Scott always tries to say "There are reasons things happen." But there's one thing that Scott will always admit to Sarah - meeting Sarah happened for a reason.
